This fretted 4-string acoustic Strata Violin (Modular Fiddle) is built with candy apple red parts, a black body, and helicore strings. This offers the best acoustic performance possible while keeping costs down with less expensive geared ukulele tuners. The body of this instrument has some visible print defects. They do not impact performance.
This fiddle makes a great beginner instrument, or a totally unique instrument for those times when you’re OK with your fiddle being about 2/3 the volume of a wooden violin.
I play my Modular Fiddle when I am practicing around my family — they feel like my wooden instrument is a bit loud when I have to play the same passages over and over… It’s also a great campfire fiddle — anytime you want something just a bit warmer and mellower than a wooden violin.
